MotoGP Mugello: Dovizioso heads wet second practice

Dovizioso was quickest at Mugello on a drying track

Repsol Honda’s Andrea Dovizioso set the fastest time in this afternoon’s rain-hit second MotoGP free practice session and is a country mile ahead of pack after most stayed in their garages until the track dried out at the end of the 45 minutes.

Dovizioso is 2.6s ahead of second-placed man Toni Elias and a further 2.1s in front of Valentino Rossi but boht men only did six laps while Rizla Suzuki’s Alvaro Bautista was fourth fastest, five seconds in arrears on a 1’54.497. Randy De Puniet lead for a majority of the sesson but slipped to fifth with Karel Abraham sixth. Hector Barbera, Cal Crutchlow, Nicky Hayden and Hiro Aoyama complete the top ten .
