Yonny Hernández underwent a successful surgery on his left wrist in Barcelona by Dr. Xavier Mir, Head of the Pathology Unit of the Hand and Upper Extremity unit at the USP Dexeus hospital. The Columbian rider who compete in the MotoGP class in 2012 riding a CRT bike on the BQR team, had a scapholunate ligament tear in his left wrist, a complication resulting from the fall suffered last August during the early stages of the Moto2 race at the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic.
Dr. Mir repaired the ligaments using arthroscopy, and the 23-year-old will have his wrist immobilized for a month until physical therapy can begin in about six weeks.
